Why ECR?

Our Inspiration

Expansive Connections Retreats was born of a love of both relationships and place. Catalina Island feels a world away, and with its ocean horizon and unhurried pace, it naturally invites couples to slow down and connect. We were inspired to pair this setting with the research-informed practices I have seen transform relationships in my therapeutic work: embodied movement, nervous system regulation, and tools that support real, honest communication. Our retreats bring these elements together in a supportive community of couples who are committed to growing with intention.
meant to be
This work is also deeply personal. I have had the privilege of living the practice of authentic, emotionally vulnerable, and honest relationships in my own life. And of course, I do not do that alone. My husband has an engineer’s mind and is less naturally introspective, yet he continues to lean in, stay curious, and do the work alongside me. Like any couple, we have our ups and downs, and we also keep choosing to cultivate a deeper, more connected love over time. We practice what we teach in the retreat space, and we are willing to bring our genuine relationship into the experience with our guests. This is a key reason our retreats are not framed as therapy. I am there to hold space with clinical wisdom and compassion, but also to show up fully and vulnerably as a real partner, practicing right alongside you.

Meet Jessica

Hi, I’m Jessica
I’m a relationship and intimacy expert dedicated to helping people create deeper, more authentic connections.
For years, I’ve supported couples and individuals in navigating communication, closeness, and intimacy. I am a licensed therapist and have extensive training and professional certifications in intimacy and sex and relationship therapy.
I am LGBTQ-, non-monogamous-, kink-, and neurodivergent-affirming, and I create inclusive, welcoming spaces where all kinds of relationships can thrive. With training in somatic therapies and certifications as both a Pilates instructor and a 200-hour yoga teacher, I bring a mind-body approach to my work, weaving movement, breath, and presence into the relationship space.
Whether in my clinical work or in retreat settings, I invite people to slow down, show up as they are, and rediscover one another, not just as partners, but as full, vibrant human beings.
Catalina Island is one of my favorite places to reconnect with myself, my relationships, and the natural world. Off the island, you’ll often find me exploring embodied connection through group or partner yoga, acroyoga, salsa, bachata, or hiking. I also love volunteering and spending my downtime with my husband and our dog, Sammy.
I’d be honored to support you on your journey to authentic connection.
